Tindo’s latest ‘Walara’ N-type panels are available as a 440W panel in standard format, and a 475W panel which is an all-black, seamless product and are CEC certified. Both new panels are the most powerful rooftop solar panels yet produced in Australia; the only Australian-made panel with more power output is Tindo’s 575W utility-scale panel.

The Walara panels feature a strong structure framing, giving them greater strength and better protection of the cells. The N-type cell chemistry means more power, and the format sees the inclusion of a slightly larger solar cell and an increase in busbar from 10 to 16 which increases efficiency.

Tindo Chief Executive Officer, Richard Petterson, said the new Walara panels were a product of Tindo’s in-house engineering and R&D effort, combined with input from installer partners, external research teams and the best technology from global supply chains.

“We service the premium solar panel market, which means our design and engineering teams have built the best reliability, efficiency and durability into these Walara panels. The development of the two latest panels in the Walara series is a direct reflection of the feedback shared by our customers.”

The new Walara panels are independently tested for cyclone, hail, damp heat and a thermal range of -40˚ to 85˚ Celsius. They go through a seven-point process to ensure Zero-Defect manufacturing which produces a failure rate of 1 in every 200,000, which is around 200-times better than the industry average.

Mr Petterson said Tindo invested in R&D and was committed to continuous improvement in its solar panels.

“In Kaurna Warra, the language of the Adelaide Plains traditional owners, Walara means ‘intelligent’, ‘smart’ and ‘bright’,” said Mr Petterson. “That’s what we set out to design and manufacture, and I’m proud of what the Tindo team has achieved.”

The Walara 440W solar panel is now available for order through Tindo’s selected distribution partners. The Walara 475W black solar panel will follow in September.
