Salisbury Aquatic Centre
Project's Overview
The Salisbury Aquatic Centre was opened in 2024 as part of a $28.4 million redevelopment project commissioned by the City of Salisbury to serve as the cornerstone of community health and wellbeing.
This state-of-the-art facility features a heated a 50-metre outdoor pool, heated indoor lap and leisure pools, water slides, a gymnasium and a café.
The Solution
Sustainability is of paramount concern to the City of Salisbury council, with heavy invested in renewable energy production ongoing to meet their sustainability targets and reduce operating costs across their assets.
During the scoping phase of the Centre’s redevelopment compressed air, biomass heating, and geothermal energy sources were investigated but ultimately solar was selected as the best solution within the design criteria specified.
The site experiences considerable shading during certain times of the day, the solution was to install 370 x 7th Gen Tindo Karra-410G2H with SolarEdge optimisers and inverters to optimise the yield.
This project joins a growing list of City of City of Sailsbury’s sustitainability projects and the Michael Pavlovich – City of Sailsbury’s Energy & Lighting Specialist (Infrastructure Management) says that “Council monitoring of our installed fleet has shown Tindo panels to be more resilient and to consistently perform better than other alternatives installed.”
